Our History and Legacy

Duncan Harris, who grew up in Tasmania, moved to Perth in 1993 after completing his Bachelor of Engineering at RMIT. While working full-time as a Research Engineer, he bought the Swan Valley property in 1998 and meticulously built the vineyard and natural winemaking facilities. The cellar door opened in 2000, and Duncan became a full-time vigneron in 2001. In 2025, we celebrate 27 years of ownership on this historic land, which has been growing grapes for over a century.

Our Vineyards and Philosophy

Nestled in the Swan Valley, Harris Organic is driven by a commitment to sustainable, certified organic viticulture. We believe that good wine begin with good soil, which is why we never use chemical fertilisers or pesticides. Every bottle has Duncan's finger prints on it and tells the story of our unique Western Australian terroir.

Pioneering Australian Organic Wines since 2007.

Our commitment goes beyond wine. Harris Organic is the only certified organic winery in the Perth region. We secured our manufacturing license and achieved certified organic status for our winery in 2006, leading us to create Perth's first certified organic wines in 2007.

This pioneering spirit ensures that every drop of our wine is pure, gluten-free, and ethically produced.

The Pan Pacific Perth Sustainability Award acknowledges businesses that demonstrate an outstanding response to environmental and social challenges through innovation and sustainable practices. Harris Organic Wines was specifically lauded for its comprehensive approach, including using solar and wood-fired energy for small-batch winery and successfully maintaining a dryland vineyard in the Swan Valley without irrigation.

Organic Natural Wines - Australia

Harris Winery produces a range of organic natural wines in a traditional method; Duncan Harris the natural winemaker makes these natural wines and natural red wines from the organic grapes grown on the certified organic property in Perth at Duncan's Swan Valley winery. He make a meticulously handcrafted traditional method natural white wine called "blanc de blanc" from chardonnay and a soft vintage natural red wine from shiraz. Blanc de blanc means "white of whites".

These are natural wines made exclusively from white grapes, in this case, chardonnay. These are made with time honoured methods where the wine is bottled on the premises. Serve chilled to your family and friends for your organic wine enjoyment.
